Some excitement this morning! Christine wanted to use her hair straightener so I told her to use the plug that had the converter on it to be safe. After about three minutes, we hear this pop and smoke is pouring from the outlet! My converter apparently decided to cease working! I've had it for a long time. Maintenance came up after awhile and helped us figure out which items we have (all but the straightener) that don't require the converter.
The tour group met and headed into Dublin. First stop was the Teeling distillery. After a short bus trip through the heart of Dublin we returned to the hotel. Christine and I walked down the street to a bistro for dinner, which was delicious!
Tomorrow we head out to Kilkenny!

Over the ocean......
We were none the worse for wear after our long layover in Boston. We actually had a pretty good system going. Christine got a wheelchair and pushed me while I steered the two wheeled carry-ons along the side.
On the plane, Christine's monitor didn't work. After repeated requests to the flight attendant, she finally said it didn't work. I dozed off and woke up to the lady behind us laying in the aisle. What is it with me and people on long flights?!!? On the flight to Germany last year, the guy beside me passed out (probably from the four bottles of whiskey he drank). I guess this lady passed out, but she wasn't drinking.
The lady who was waiting in Dublin with my wheel chair was as sweet and helpful as she could be. She also found the cheapest way for us to get to the hotel and delivered us to the spot. Very nice welcome to Ireland.
We got to the hotel at 6:00 AM. They stored our luggage and said we could check in at noon. We waited around in the one TV area and at 9:00 they came and let us in our room! So far, it has been wonderful, if not a little tiring.
My daughter is the best! She is so patient with my slow going and takes care of all the luggage.
Time for a nap!

There's a rainbow in even the most unfortunate situations......
We arrived to check into our motel the night before our trip. They didn't have enough rooms ready, so we had to wait. Unlike the others who acted "inconvenienced," we went to the restaurant to eat and watch the Pirates get slaughtered by the Mets. We discovered that we can park the car here and she's not going to charge us!
